Before I tell you what the mission from God is all about, I have to apologize for not updating this blog section very often. I tend to post my latest doings on Facebook, usually at my personal profile Dada Vedaprajinananda (you can befriend me or follow me to keep up with everything) and sometimes on my music page www.facebook.com/dadavedamusic
Now, the Mission from God stuff.. A year ago I was in India and one of the Ananda Marga nuns was describing her program to build a hospital in Kolkata that will offer medical treatment to the “poorest of the poorest.” The nun is an old friend, Didi Ananda Prajina. She has been working on this project since the early 1990s and was able to purchase choice land and start construction of the hospital. It has been a long struggle but she has now been able to open an outpatient clinic on the first floor of the building which is still in construction. Continue reading

Dada Veda will offer a two hour program of music and meditation instruction at the Oasis Institute in Knoxville, TN on September 10, 2016 . Dada will sing selected songs from his five CDs and talk about the role of meditation in personal and social transformation.
The online music site Jamsphere.com did a review of my CD. Here it is:
Dada Veda: “Trickle On Down” – music that belongs to the world!
Originally from New York, Dada Veda is a meditation and yoga teacher, as well as a singer-songwriter. Although Dada has been playing the guitar and singing for the past 40 years, it was only in the past ten years that he tried his hand at composing his own songs, and completing four albums. Here Dada explains the concept of his fourth album “Trickle On Down” (released in 2016), in the liner notes, “My main job in life is teaching meditation and yoga, but my musical activities are an important extension of this work.” He adds, “In these short songs I have tried to infuse the eternal truths that are at the core of who we are as individuals and as a society.”
There is no question in my mind about the rating of this album if I could go above 5 stars I would. Each track I find takes you someplace you want to go, may have been or really should be in your life. Dada Veda is one of the rare artists that seem to be able to really paint a picture in your mind. This is the second in this series of House Concerts. Local musicians from the Champaign-Urbana area will perform. Admission is by donation (any amount!) and donations will be given to a local charity. Dada will be one of the hosts, and if he is not still reeling from jet-lag he may perform a song or two. Local musicians will be announced soon. See our website http://chc.rawa.net for the details.
